Privacy Policy
The browser extension Speed Changer (“Extension”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how we share it, and how you can opt out or request deletion.
1. Data we collect
- Event telemetry: usage events sent directly to Google Analytics.
- IP address: used to derive coarse geolocation (country or region).
- Platform information: operating system name and version, browser name and version, device type and model, language, screen resolution, active color scheme.
- Website host: full hostnames for a fixed list of specific websites (see section Tracked Website Hosts); hosts not on the list are represented by an obfuscated, non-reversible identifier.

3. How we use data
- Analytics: telemetry and platform information are used to measure usage patterns and feature engagement and to inform product decisions.
- Geolocation: IP addresses are used only to derive coarse geolocation for analytics.
- Product improvement: theme, platform, and host information are used to prioritize user interface and compatibility work.
4. Google Analytics and third parties
Telemetry, platform information, and the other data described above are sent to Google Analytics. Google may process IP addresses and other data according to its policies. We do not control Google’s data retention or processing beyond our configuration. We do not send names, email addresses, or other direct personal identifiers.
5. Identifiers and linking
- We do not intentionally send personal identifiers such as names or email addresses.
- IP addresses are used to derive coarse geolocation and are not combined with personal identifiers on our side.
- Hosts not in the tracked list are represented by obfuscated identifiers that cannot be reversed to recover the original host.
6. Retention and minimization
- We limit collection to the categories listed above.
- Retention of raw telemetry is managed through our Google Analytics configuration.
7. User controls and opt-out
The Extension provides a settings option to opt out of telemetry. If you opt out, telemetry collection will stop. You can also remove the Extension to stop all data collection.
8. Data sharing and disclosure
- We do not sell personal data.
- We may share anonymized or aggregated data with service providers who process data on our behalf, including Google for analytics.
- We will disclose data when required by law.
9. Children
The Extension is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International transfers
Data may be processed by Google and other providers in jurisdictions outside your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
